Yes, except your right shoulder should be lined up with the center line. When you extend out your paddle the tip of it should touch the edge of the table.
That is the best ready position. You want to be slightly to the left side because your forehand stroke has a bit more reach than your backhand stroke.
You want to be a moderate distance away from the table because it’s much easier to step forward for a push than it is to hop back to defend against a smash or loop.
great. now move about 50cm to your left and move your right foot a bit further back from the table while keeping your left foot where it is.
now you have the REAL “correct body position in ping pong”.
